Job Description

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will assist the CCEE Department with course instruction in civil engineering, research, and technology transfer activities in asphalt materials and pavements including laboratory and field related work as well as analysis and document development and publication. The candidate is expected to participate in the development of proposals, development of scholarship including peer reviewed journal and conference papers, project reports and other scholarship and technology transfer related activities. The research component of the position is working on sponsored research related to biomaterials from fast pyrolysis and soybean oil derived molecules.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D.

  • Doctoral degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in asphalt materials
  • Experience in rheological testing and evaluation of biomaterials with a working knowledge with bio-based rejuvenators and biopolymers derived from soybean oil
  • Working knowledge and experience in asphalt mix design, performance testing, binder testing and quality control/quality assurance testing and evaluation in the United States with State Transportation agencies.
