JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Yinming Shao on a quantum materials research program focused on the optical studies of novel quantum matter, including topological materials and magnetic semiconductors. The project involves magneto-optical spectroscopy at terahertz and infrared frequencies, and near-field nano-imaging measurements of emergent phenomena localized at the surfaces, interface, and edges of quantum matter.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field, with experience in topological materials and optical spectroscopy/imaging preferred. Applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a statement of research interests electronically. Additionally, three reference letters should be sent to ymshao@psu.edu.
This is a term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
