Job Description

The Machine Learning Department (MLD) at Carnegie Mellon University is a leading hub for research and education in artificial intelligence and machine learning. The Machine Learning Department (MLD) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their team in the Mitchell lab. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out advanced independent and/or directed research to achieve the objectives of the research project.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and analyzing data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.

  • May also assist in grant writing.
  • Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctorate required
  • Experience: In depth knowledge and/ or experience in a specialized field, process, or discipline and may involve organizing and implementing complex research plans, the development of methods of research, testing and data collection, analysis and evaluation, and writing reports which contain descriptive, analytical and evaluative content.

A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
