Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Zhang laboratory is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate Position focused on developing new organic synthetic methods, expected to start in spring 2025. The candidates will be responsible for developing new synthetic methods, applying them to synthesizing, and modifying organic molecules. The candidate will work closely with the principal investigator and team while also being expected to tackle research challenges independently. Additional duties include mentoring junior students, assisting in the preparation of research proposals and manuscripts, fostering group discussions, supporting lab management, and maintaining a safe working environment. The Funding is secured for two years (12 months per year) with the potential for an additional year.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in organic synthesis or synthetic chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year postdoctoral experience in organic chemistry. 
• Strong background in synthetic methods or organic synthesis.
• At least one high-impact first-author paper from doctoral research.
• Experience synthesizing and modifying organic molecules.
