- Working with the Texas Water Observatory (TWO) collaborators collecting and analyzing field data under different agricultural practices and ecosystems and derive insights to soil-water-plant-atmosphere interactions in normal and extreme weather conditions that support sustainable agricultural water management and soil health management practices.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present them at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to grant proposal development.
- Other duties as required.
Required Education:
- PhD in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Hydrology, Remote Sensing or related disciplines
Required Abilities, Knowledge or Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Abilities, Knowledge or Skills:
- Strong background in satellite remote sensing of land surface and ecosystems attributes such as soil moisture, evapotranspiration, land use land cover and biomass, along with expertise in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques for precision water management.
- Strong foundation in vadose zone hydrology, irrigation, land-atmosphere interaction, and experience with process-based models, remote sensing, AI/ML applications

- This is a two-year funded position (with possibility of extension to a third year), renewed annually, based on performance and availability of funds.
