Job Description

  • School of Psychology

  • Full-time, fixed-term position through to 31 December 2026

  • Base salary will range from $80,448 – $107,104 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) 

  • Based at our vibrant and picturesque St Lucia campus

About This Opportunity 

Our prestigious School of Psychology is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work in a role shared across Professors Jolanda Jetten and Catherine Haslam conducting high quality research related to their key research programs. These include Professor Jetten’s Laureate Project, “Breaking with the past: Responding to the challenge of identity change”, and key translational research programs of SIGNify under the direction of Professor Haslam focused on the social and cognitive consequences of identity-changing life transitions (e.g., trauma, illness, ageing) and interventions that can be used to manage these.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Research: Collaborate on research projects, support the day-to-day management of relevant research initiatives, and publish in reputable journals.

  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision of students and lead research support staff providing performance feedback and coaching.

  • Citizenship and Service: Begin to develop partnerships, engage in internal and external service roles, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You  

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD in Psychology.

  • An emerging profile in research in social, organisational and/or clinical psychology.

  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.

  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.

  • Evidence of participation in, and contribution to, an emerging network of industry liaisons and professional contacts.

  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a multidisciplinary background.
